Well, if you haven't picked up "Invitation" from Jaco yet, that's definitely a great album (and I have a very wide, yet snobby, music collection). Any other ones are below in no order...

Invitation - Jaco Pastorius
The Word - Jonas Hellborg
Demon Days - Gorillaz
Nice - Rollins Band
Sex, Love & Rock & Roll - Social Distortion
His Best - Howling Wolf
Spiked! - The Music of Spike Jones
Shut Yo' Mouth! - Slam Steward & Major Holley
Live at Filmore - Allman Bros.
El Destroyo - Twistin' Tarantulas

Well then, let's see if I can toss you some more.

Skip, Hop & Wobble - Edgar Meyer, Russ Barenburg, Jerry Douglas

Oteil and the Peacemakers - Love of a Lifetime

Headhunters - Herbie Hancock

His Best (both of 'em) - Muddy Waters

Live: Spontaneous Combustion - Son Seals

Trane'ing In - John Coltrane with the Red Garland Trio

West Side Story - Stan Kenton

'Red' by King Crimson. John Wetton's P-bass tone kills.

'Bright Size Life' Pat Metheny. Metheny on guitar, Jaco Pastorious on bass, Bob Moses on drums. This one is my own favorite inspiration.

'Inner Visions' Stevie Wonder. Who cares is a lot of it is synth bass?

'Fleetwood Mac' John McVie is a master of understated playing, and he and Mick Fleetwood are poster kids for How to Lock into the Groove.

Any Doobie Brothers with Tiran Porter on bass. He keeps the songs moving and doesn't spend a lot of time on the root.
