short scale question

would a drop d string be tighter on a short scale bass or 34 just something ive been wondering , on some 34 when you drop d it starts to clack i was wondering if a shorter scale would eliminate that?

You can set string height so it doesn't clack on the frets anymore.

If you want strings to get tighter you need a longer, not shorter scale.
