Members Iloverush
So, I finally succeeded in adjusting the trust rod on the old beaten Hohner B2a I bought on Ebay last week. The pick-ups are really bad and I want to change them but I don't know a lot about pick-ups. Does anyone familiar with this bass can help me?I only know the EMG HB that could fit but are they really good for a wood body? I think they were designed for the graphite Steinberger L2. If it helps, I play some Rush, slap-pop, a lot of stuff but no metal style. Thanks.

Members Jazz Ad
You have the active version right ? If you want it to remain this way, the EMGs would be a good choice. You will also have to replace the preamp. For the kind of tone you're after, I'd go a bit crazy and slap a pair of Rio Grande Pitbull in there. You'd get these crispy highs with big low end. Plus, it would look killer. I don't know how they will behave with your preamp though.
Members Iloverush
Thanks Jazz Ad, I remember installing EMG's active P style PUs in a passive Yamaha BB300 20 years ago and it came with everything I needed. So why will I have to keep the pre-amp? I'll look for these Pitbull.
