Members JanVanHove Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 Does it or does it not look cool? Is it or is it not useful in any conceivable way?
Members thebeatcatcher2 Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 i think it looks pretty cool, but i don't like the color of the bass though. useful, i don't know. is the body thickness still the same behind the neck at the cutout? if so, it seems you'd still have to go into thumb-position at the break so it wouldn't really help much. i guess if you had shorter arms it would be easier to play the upper-upper registers. still, i think it looks cool.
Members Perfessor Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 The manner in which the octave notes are played makes the cutaway unneccessary. I think it's for rockabilly music when the bass is played more horizontal.
Members D Aussie Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 Looks like one from a Dali painting. No use whatsoever, but still nice to make a change.
Members bholder Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 I think it looks silly on a bass with traditional finish and f holes. Now, take that same body and do some jazzy art deco or rockabilly stuff to it, yeah (like that old Hopf that showed up in another thread a while back).
