Members Darkstorm Posted February 17, 2007 Members Posted February 17, 2007 ESP Ltd F series. Buying cheap fiver is bad idea overall as they generally have lousy sounding low B's. At least the esp ltd f series uses longer scale for better low B and very good construction with good qaulity hardware and pups.

Members been_effected Posted February 17, 2007 Members Posted February 17, 2007 see your thread title? those three words shouldnt ever be in the same sentence... in my experience cheap 5-strings end in heartache because most B-strings are too floppy save your pennies and get somethin better
Members randomhero2006 Posted February 18, 2007 Members Posted February 18, 2007 Technically, the cheapest I've seen is a Rouge. But who would buy that?
Members bassred Posted February 18, 2007 Members Posted February 18, 2007 My Essex 5'er still plays like a mother after 6 years, so I'd say they are a safe bet
