Members JacieFB Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 Argh...so far I've only had one minor cold. But my wife has been hit hard 2 times now! She got some kind of chest cold/flu and coughed for days. She got over that and felt okay for about a week and now she has a stomach/intestine virus(that's what the doc is calling it anyway). Doc says 1-3 days of feeling like hell...as many as 7, though. I'm thinking that it has to do with her recent job switch. She now works for Cincinnati Children's Hospital and she comes into contact with a lot of different people...sick kids included. To spite her hand sanitizing efforts and vitamin eating, she can't win. Anyone else? Can I bring you some tea? Some oatmeal? A bucket?
Members guitargod0dmw Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 My wife has been feeling pretty crappy too. I've been ok...sept' for my back, but that's been years coming.
Members catphish Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I was WAY sick for a whole week the week after the superbowl. Sitting in the rain for 6 hours might have had something to do with it....and then sitting next to a kid who coughed the entire plane ride home.....

Members toolbar Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I was sick with stomach virus the first weekend in Jan. Two weeks later, I played a gig at the Ft. Worth Stock show with a 102 temperature. Turned out to be a sinus infection that move into my chest after about 4 days. I had to finally go to the doc. to get steriod and antibiotic shots. After a month, I finally feel pretty good.
Members justing Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I used to get sick if the wind blew too hard. But then I moved away and I haven't been sick since then. *knocks on wood*
Members mike fitzwell Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 The whole family has been healthier this winter than most.
Members 1tallbassguy Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I've had "the crud" several times. My GF has also had it many times.
Members niomosy Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 Yeah, my family got hit. My wife and daughter caught it first. I caught it a week later after going through a good lack of sleep combined with awful sleeping pattern (thanks DST patching!). My daughter's done with it. My wife and I are still recovering. I took a couple cold capsules (Vicks, I think). That was Monday evening. I'm still feeling a bit light-headed because of it. Man, cold medicine still screws me up.
Members L-1329 Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 My immune system kicks major ass and I very rarely get sick, however I am totally sick of winter!
Members Svi Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 Thankfully, I haven't had anything yet. But I know since I just said that I will. I bought an awesome humidifier and according to the package, it says it reduces sickness and airborne illness!
Members Gaui Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I've got a cold now, first time I get sick this winter. But there has been a lot of sickness around, many I know been sick for more then a week with the flu.
Members bholder Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I've been tired and my allergies have sometimes bothered me, but strangely enough, I haven't been really sick so far, and I didn't even get a flu shot this year (which I almost always do).
Members oldivor Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I live in an uni, I don't get enough sleep, you do the math.
Members GrooveMonkey Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I got over a nasty chest cold a week ago and now it's moved to my head. *sniffle...snort...AhhhhhChoooooo!!!*
Members jpark Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 My immune system kicks major ass and I very rarely get sick, however I am totally sick of winter! So does mine, except for sinus infections. Which I've manged to only have one this winter.
Members ssimontis Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I got the flu around Christmas, but that was it.
Members bassgirl9 Posted February 21, 2007 Members Posted February 21, 2007 I've been sick 3 times this flu season. 2 colds 1 flu.
Members james on bass Posted February 22, 2007 Members Posted February 22, 2007 I rarely get sick, and had a flu shot in the fall. I've had a cold pretty much since mid-december. Pissin' me off.
Members Bass8987 Posted February 22, 2007 Members Posted February 22, 2007 I rarely get sick, then again I lift weights/do cardio 5 days a week, eat well (and take my vitamins and fish oil), sleep around 8 hours every night, and wash my hands every other hour.
Members Thumper Posted February 22, 2007 Members Posted February 22, 2007 I was out with the flu for a day last month. Otherwise, so far so good.
Members Hamhand Posted February 22, 2007 Members Posted February 22, 2007 What Jpark said. I did the flu shot thing early.
Members walkerci Posted February 22, 2007 Members Posted February 22, 2007 My immune system kicks major ass and I very rarely get sick, however I am totally sick of winter! That makes two of us. Diet helps though. I eat lots of hot spicy food and drink green/black tea all day long. Haven't had a cold or the flu in probably at least 4 years now, despite flying all the time and being exposed to a lot of sick people.
