What is your favourite Classical Period?

Right basically this is what I'm covering for my music exam.

20th Century can really suck.

Romantic is by far my favourite - the composers had the most scope for creativity and they can draw influences from all over the place, whilst not sounding like a load of crap - a la 20th century music. The music they make encompasses the best of Classical too and takes it to something a bit more exiting.

'sfunny. classical bores me. i can't stand theme and development. i don't like to hear Beethoven and that ilk at all. it makes me want to jump up and scream "get on with it already!"

i would say my preference runs from late romantic to early 20th century.

Mahler and Stravinsky really do it for me.

I like the "classical" period...the periods before and after this are often too bombastic and frilly for me.

That said, I voted "20th century" because so much happened-- John Cage, electronic music, minimalism, etc.

It's not always my favorite stuff to listen to, and some of it is willfully difficult and even silly at times, but for me its the period with the most experimentation, invention and diversity.
