Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder for P Bass

I've got a cheap Kramer P-style bass, not bad at all. It can get a bit flabby on the low end though, and I've heard great things about the SD quarter pounder. I play with a mainly overdriven sound, straight into a tube amp. Would the pickup be much of an upgrade?

I play with a pick and I even use the odd powerchord, if that's any help.

The QP will do well for you...I'll also offer the usual idea that I do whenever someone mentions the QP...Fender's Classic '62 Reissue pup is awesome. It's a little less-over-the-top than the QP...and it's easy to get some nice mid-range dirt with it, too.

I have them in my main p bass. I have dimarzios in my 2nd p bass. I like the dimarzios better.

I think the dimarzios have a more tighter/focused sound. While the 1/4lbers have more of a full range sound if that makes any sense....
I guess I would say the dimarzios have a more pronounced lower mid tone to my ears.
