yeah, i've never been crazy about the EA stuff. It's too clean for my sloppy playing!

Alos, i'm big on SWR so eden is like the enemy!

Trust me, you have to be cleaner than me. Again, I'm a recovering guitard. ;)

I like SWR too, really, I do, especially the high end stuff. But it's hard to argue with a rig comprised of a 4 pound head and a 30 pound cab. (Okay, soon to be 2 30 pound cabs...) :)

I'm thinking pretty warm from what I remember of Korina guitars. How heavy is it?

Not heavy at all, noticibly lighter than mahogany. This bass has essentially an ebony and maple top, which balances out the warmness of the korina perfectly with good clarity and sustain. The overall tone is great. By itself I've heard korina sounds very similar to mahogany, but with better looks, and lighter weight. I'd agree with that as well.

Thanks for the info - good to know! :)

I saw these last night, and was drooling over the first two. They have 2 spalt top with drop bindings on there. I found it really hard to not just drop the $$ and buy one. Too beautiful for words.

Not sure what I would do for hte neck to match that though. Ebony FB for sure, but what neck? Mahogany to match the body?

I have a Warmoth dinky-J body made of Black Korina. It has a high gloss poly finish and looks fantastic. Every time I pull it out of the case I have to stop and admire the fantastic grain and texture of the wood because once I strap it on its analogous to putting on a pair if glasses.....invisible to the wearer.

And the sound?! It's simply the best sounding bass I've ever owned!

I have to admit I never thought about a burst finish on Black Korina.........looks great either way.

For sure the Warmoth stuff is expensive but it is quality stuff.

PD

p.s. I'll try and post a pic later today

"No, your mom"? That's what you're going with? I expected more...

Your brain must be getting all mushy from the Mod Cow disease...

Or the syphilis...

Hrm...what other venereal diseases could you have caught from your relatives? I haven't been keeping up on the Center for Disease Control bulletins about your family...
