Members #6 Posted March 28, 2007 Members Posted March 28, 2007 so the other day i was in my local guitar tech's shop, and he was in the process of prepping '69 teisco ep-200b for sale....very freakin cool axe... after that i was taken with the weird retro look and feel of this bass...and started looking around for more online.. anyone have any thoughts on teisco? know where any are being sold? in addition, does anyone know where i can find a good general info page on 60's odd basses on the web? and in closing...why have basses become so standardized these days? though i love j basses...everything seems to be a variation of jazz or precision...alas well...thanks
Members Thumper Posted March 28, 2007 Members Posted March 28, 2007 Welcome to the forum. Tiesco was a budget Japanese brand from the '60s and '70s. I think they're being reissued. Check these sites out: http://www.vintaxe.com/guitars_japanese.htm www.diamondstrings.com Diamond Strings is a dealer that often has cool/odd MIJ stuff for sale (but not for cheap). Have fun.
Members bholder Posted March 28, 2007 Members Posted March 28, 2007 Teisco was cheap before cheap was cheap. Teisco was crap before crap was crap. Teisco was cool before cool was cool.
