the headstock looks just like the fender jp90 that the ex-bassist in my band had. but the pickguard is completely different.

Looks like a P-Bass Special to me. Never seen that pickguard before, though. Are those stacked knobs, or just really big ones? It may have a preamp in it (for a Special, wouldn't surprise me)

Maybe it's a neck on some other body franken fender? Whatever it is, it's nowhere near as cool as the shell pink Uber-Jazz!
