Members guitargod0dmw Posted April 5, 2007 Author Members Posted April 5, 2007 Now who's Symphony X? Excellent Prog Metal band. Very good players, very good music...everything I like...and apparently I'm not alone, they have a pretty good underground following.

Very good players, very good music...everything I like...and apparently I'm not alone, they have a pretty good underground following. Forgive me, I'm a bit naive when it comes to this metal "thing." Do they have that guttural vocal thing goin' on? Coz, I don't like that guttural vocal thing too much. It sounds like they're really angry ...about somethin' ... n' stuff. Sorry.
Members ThrashmetalErik Posted April 5, 2007 Members Posted April 5, 2007 {censored}ing sweet good luck! :thu:
Members J. Posted April 5, 2007 Members Posted April 5, 2007 Awesome. Symphony X is an incredible band.

Members Kelemvor Posted April 6, 2007 Members Posted April 6, 2007 AWESOME!! I was upset to miss Symphony X at the Megadeth/Dream Theater show 2 years ago in Atlanta. Symphony X was on the ticket by they couldn't make it for some reason.

Members Robin Posted April 6, 2007 Members Posted April 6, 2007 http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=325 Info on the band, in addition to some mp3 clips. OK, Yeah, those guys can play alright. I listened to a couple clips. Nothing what I expected. Suppose the "metal" connotation threw me off a bit. Makes me think of those angry young screamers of incoherency and rage. I see now, Symphony X is nothing like that. Thanks!

Members Goofball Jones Posted April 27, 2007 Members Posted April 27, 2007 SWEET! Congo-rats! Also, Spock's Beard is an awesome name. Never heard of them either. Will look up both. Progressive Metal sounds cool. And, I think it also helped your band out with listing Symphony X as one of your influences on your MySpace page.
Members SYRINGEBASS Posted April 27, 2007 Members Posted April 27, 2007 HELL YEAH....Symphony X is a great band. Will Echoes of Eternity be with them? My former guitarist recorded with EOE just after they were signed by Nuclear Blast, he had to quit shortly after. They are an excellent band.
Members guitargod0dmw Posted April 27, 2007 Author Members Posted April 27, 2007 Will Echoes of Eternity be with them? Yeah...EOE will be there. Come check us all out!!! And not living in CT in not an excuse...I expect people to fly across the country or drive 10 hours to see us
Members guitargod0dmw Posted April 27, 2007 Author Members Posted April 27, 2007 Also, Spock's Beard is an awesome name. Never heard of them either. Will look up both. Progressive Metal sounds cool. They were awesome last night. 2 drummers...weird. Prog Metal is cool!!! Tell your friends
Members anothertxn Posted April 27, 2007 Members Posted April 27, 2007 The clubs up there make you compete in terms of personal ticket sales to determine who with/when you play? Wow, that ghastly...
Members Chiisu Posted April 27, 2007 Members Posted April 27, 2007 Congrats! Those are some awesome bands to be opening for, you'll def. get some good exposure.
Members guitargod0dmw Posted April 27, 2007 Author Members Posted April 27, 2007 The clubs up there make you compete in terms of personal ticket sales to determine who with/when you play? Wow, that ghastly... This club...not all. It sucks. If you don;t sell enoguh tickets, you don;t get asked back...so if you want to play again, you basically have to buy out your own tickets. We were standing out front scalping the ones we bought last night for our own damn show!!! But we didn;t know about the show too much in advance to really sell...this one we'll have no excuses if we don't!
Members Onkel Bob Posted April 27, 2007 Members Posted April 27, 2007 Yeah...EOE will be there. Come check us all out!!! And not living in CT in not an excuse...I expect people to fly across the country or drive 10 hours to see us Is living in Denmark an excuse? I probably won't make it. Congrats though.
