I just listened to a few of their tracks like 'American band' and 'some kind of wonderful'.


His bass sounds awesome.

Anyone know what equipment was used? Sounds like an early Billy Sheehan tone.

I am pretty certain Mel was an Ampeg SVT guy. Bass? I am not sure.

Back in those days it was a Fender Jazz Bass into West Amplifiers as noted above (awesome pics, bassment zombie. Are these yours?). Don't know what he went with after that.

damn, you know whats surprising to me is how good Mark Farner is :eek:

I never seen them live, i heard that self titled "Red" album when it was still underground (FM) a girl in my neighborhood had it.

I didn't know Farner was that good, he's doing things that look like precursors to what every guitarist since does...that cats good.
