Surprised no one mentioned Alien, which is essentially a horror movie disguised as a sci-fi, just as Aliens is an action movie disguised as a sci-fi.

The Japs do some good horror: Ringu and the Audition especially.

I just rented the Audition and fell asleep halfway through. It seemed way too pieced together for my tastes.

Hell yes! And House of 1000.

Thank god Rob is doing the Halloween remake. Still unhappy about it, but better him than anyone else.

I had no desire to see Devil's rejects because House of a 1000 corpses was one of the biggest piece of {censored} movies i've ever sat through, right next to the Blair Witch project.

A lot of people feel that way. I took me two viewings, because the first is pretty much 2 hours saying 'what the {censored}?' in various tones and volumes.

It makes a lot more sense when Rob explained the movie was his homage to 70s horror. Almost like a tribute album if you will.

Why didn't you care for it?

To each his own. House of 1000 didn't do much for me but I did enjoy Rejects.

"The Serpent and The Rainbow" freaked me the hell out as a kid when the dude gets killed with voodoo and the scorpion crawls out of his mouth.

Did you finish it? Its really all about the ending.

The thing about the Audition is that it is a little bit dated and it takes a while to get moving. Its also completely {censored}ed up. 'Ti ti ti ti ti'

But the Japanese have a different approach to cinema, they take their time. And so do a lot of other cultures... . But as americans we expect nonstop action...

The Shining.

Although not a horror flick, The Birds creeps me out if watched at night in a dark room.

One thing about The Shining I thought was interesting. Usually spooky movies are dark. In the Shining, stuff was well lighted. Plenty of light. Light and just as scary.

Last halloween, we hung a battery powered bat that flaps it's wings from a tree branch. Before it got dark, we gave it a try. A crow saw it and started freaking out. We are in the evening flight path for crows going wherever they go at night. So more crows and more crows and they're all flying around and freaking. There were at least 100 crows in the trees and circling and screaming. The neighbor lady came home and was scared to get out of her car. Pretty fun.

Yeah, that was not cool.

That movie had several scenes like that, just some of the gnarliest stuff. and it makes you react the same way Misery did when she "hobbles" him. (smashes his ankles with the sledge hammer)

When I was four years old my cousin was babysitting me. Not wanting to be bothered by having to watch me, he sat me down in front of the TV and put in the original "Night of the Living Dead".

I slept with the lights on in my room for 6 months. Even though I'm 25 now I still can't watch a Zombie movie. I even have to leave the room when the previews come on.

Yeah after I woke up I went back to the part I remembered and watch til the end. It was pretty crazy, but still it felt pretty loose. Ringu at least tied better IMO.

I surely didn't care for the "one hour of story set up" I just didn't feel it was necessary. But it establishes creepy factor. such as her living in an apartment with nothing in it, but a phone, and a bag that spazs out at random

I saw Robocop when I was in first grade, and I still can't look at the guy who also plays Red on That 70's Show without going, "Hey you were in Robocop!"

Sorry, I relate to this story too, except for me it was Child's Play. Stupid doll. It's that laugh.... still creep me out.

I have a good collection going:

The Blair Witch Project: I went into this movie knowing what it was, how it was going to be filmed and what to expect for an ending, so unlike a lot of people I was not disappointed. I thought it was ground-breaking and ingenious.

Poltergeist: Great movie, plain and simple. I even enjoyed part II, but most only because of the guy who played Cain. He was {censored}ing freaky.

In the Mouth of Madness: This one doesn't get enough recognition. Was Lovecraft on the big screen.

The Exorcist: Self explanatory.

House on Haunted Hill (The Remake): I loved it. It was cheesy in some parts, but cheesy in a good way.

The Ring: Too bad they {censored}ed the second one up.

The Wicker Man: I liked both the remake and the original... but god damn if the original wasn't completely {censored}ing twisted... and it has boobs.

The Vanishing: I think the scenes with him practicing on his daughter were the REAL messed up parts of that movie.

And last but not least, This bikini shoot:
