Members BeeTL
THE POLICE OK, maybe not the best EVER, but certainly among the best I've ever seen. I saw them in 1983 on the Synchronicity tour, and this tour blows it away for the pure authenticity and musicianship. Three guys on a stage, and a light show. That's it. And they sounded AWESOME!!! Nevermind that Sting's a dick, Stewart's a whiner and Andy's...well...Andy. They KILLED it!!! Also, we snuck from our marginal seats up to the second row after about four songs...PRICELESS!!! (Can you tell I enjoyed the show?) Well, since I know this thread is worthless without pics, here's the evidence:

Members BeeTL
Cheap Trick. I've seen Cheap Trick several times over the years because Robin Zander lives nearby. I would put them near the top of both best AND worst live bands, dependent upon the venue. I've seen a couple shows where they were HORRIBLE. THIS Police tour, however, did RAWK most verily... Members Navybass65
KISS in the 70's during the Alive and Alive II tours. They had stage presence, knew how to work a crowd, simple catchy songs, excellent visual effects, and a cool light show.

I'm close enough to Rockford, that I've seen CT regularly, too. What you said is a fair statement of them regarding the venue. I voted CT, just because they aren't about fancy. It's just pure rock and roll and entertaining the crowd. I would venture to guess the Police are a really good live band. They just won't come anywhere near where I'm at, so I'll have to buy the DVD sometime.

Members BEAD
Lightning Bolt - Sets up in the crowd. I spent the entire set trying not to step on the bass player's pedals. Shellac - By far the best live sound quality I've ever heard. Excellent musicians, passionate delivery.

Members Apendecto
Tool sounds just like their records, but it's not all that great of a show. GWAR puts on a hell of a show and it's usually very long and only $20. Marilyn Manson was one of the best shows I've been to, even if he was playing to a bunch of recorded music. Yo. Members walkerci
the correct answer is the grateful dead. You are half right, well maybe completely correct... Depending on the lunar phases and whether acid kicked before the start of the show. IMHO, the second half is where they really shined!:D:D
