Members tom_s252
Hi all I've got a couple of gigs coming up where, for one reason or another, I won't be able to get my amp there. I'll be travelling on the train, and I'm looking for something that'll give me some tone-shaping capability before I DI into the PA. This could be a DI (Tech21 Bass Driver perhaps?) or something like the Hartke Bass Attack, or something else. I could use some suggestions! Members guitargod0dmw
If I had to go ampless...I'd bring my Aguilar DB900 DI and my EBS Valve Drive as a preamp. It kills... A Sans Amp would work fine, as long as that is the sound you are going for. What sound are you going for?
Members D Aussie
I used sansamp BDDI for about 4 years.I think if I had to do it again, Id grab a graphic or parametric EQ pedal to stick in the chain as well. These days I use a Pod XT. Members chickbird
"These days I use a Pod XT." Thats great.....but what if the PA system the band uses is more on the cheap weak side and can't handle everything coming in to it?

If the PA can't handle a POD, then it can't handle a bass, and you've got more serious problems to address.
