Members Taustin Powers Posted July 19, 2007 Members Posted July 19, 2007 Was watching TV last night...32" Sony Bravia, about a year and a half old. And I noticed there were two strange vertical "lines" where the picture almost seemed to "break". Like, if you put a glass plate over it that had a cracks, that's what it looked like. It was on all the channels, and on a VCR tape, too, so it must have been the TV and not the signal. I turned the TV off, and then back on, and then it was gone. Anyone heard anything about or have experience with this sort of problem? Common for LCD's? The lines are gone for now, but it's obviously a sign that something is wrong with the TV.
Members mike fitzwell Posted July 19, 2007 Members Posted July 19, 2007 I use a 30" Dell LCD TV as my computer monitor that has a vertical line very similar to what you're describing. It's unrepairable from what I've been told. Sorry.
Members The Insomniac Posted July 19, 2007 Members Posted July 19, 2007 I was told the the lines are thin wires to hold the screen in place. I thought it was on the flat screen CRT models though.
Members Taustin Powers Posted July 19, 2007 Author Members Posted July 19, 2007 I found some reports about this "vertical banding" problem or whatever...but what really confuses me is that the lines disappeared after I "reset" the TV. Is that typical behavior for this sort of defect?
