..and last time I went to Do It Yourself I got scarred, could someone hook me up with a Dunlop 535q schematic? I already did a google search AND an image search with no success. I also e-mailed Dunlop and they wouldn't share with me :(. The bass forum has always proved to be the epicenter of various knowledge in the past, don't prove me wrong!

*no offense intended to DIY or Effects, but seriously, you'd think that would be the place to ask this...

Man, where do you guys find this stuff?

i work on this kind of stuff for a living so i've gots tons of it on 2 different pc's and a big folder full of schematics for vintage (pre computer era) stuff

Would you happen to have the schematics to the older version? I'm trying to fix mine. Signal passes and the boost works, however there is no effect coming out.

that's the only one i have ( i do mostly amp work and effects builds) but that one is probably close enough to troubleshoot yours with.

if not just just build yourself a probe and track it down with that.

i've attached plans for a probe ( this is the tool i use most working on pedals)

Thanks! I've seen the link to that in the effects database thread. I really need to take an electronics class :)

with that probe and schematic you should be able to hunt it down pretty quickly.just start at the output and work backwards and you'll find it. just gimme a shout if you get stuck :thu:

you should just bring your mod discussion in to this thread. would make it easier and you could get input from the other tech guys here

hahaha

i'm about to have a nervous breakdown from motorboating in this jtm already
:)

Dave Funk says you have a failing filter cap that's causing inadequate filtering that's causing some of the audio signal to be superimposed onto the DC supply and bleed into a previous stage causing feedback that sounds like a motorboat.

So get to it.
