Members bnyswonger Posted August 3, 2007 Members Posted August 3, 2007 I just saw one over a buddy's shop. Good lord that thing's huge! Like a fridge cab but a whole lot deeper. It's allegedly loaded with 15" EVs and weighs about 160 lbs. I'm gonna borrow it next month - we've got a two gig day and I want to leave my regular rig at the later gig. Thank God for freight elevators.
Members misterhinkydink Posted August 3, 2007 Members Posted August 3, 2007 tlytle has one. I call those bass death rays. :thu::thu:
Members xOriginalNinjax Posted August 3, 2007 Members Posted August 3, 2007 I was SO CLOSE to owning one with a V4B head for $500...but it sold barely an hour before I got to the store the next day...it sucks not having cash on you to put things on hold...
Members bnyswonger Posted August 3, 2007 Author Members Posted August 3, 2007 It's stupid huge. I love it.

Members RSBro Posted August 3, 2007 Members Posted August 3, 2007 For my next 2x15, I'll hold out for the Mega Whappo!
Members frunobulax Posted August 3, 2007 Members Posted August 3, 2007 It's stupid huge. I love it. what do you tour with, Bob?
Members bnyswonger Posted August 3, 2007 Author Members Posted August 3, 2007 what do you tour with, Bob? Same old same old Not that I tour that often. However, something may be afoot this December. For normal gigs, I just use the SVT and 15"s.
Members tylytle Posted August 3, 2007 Members Posted August 3, 2007 Yeah I have one. 225 lbs. Voice of God. The sound will "bloom" about 30 feet in front of it. They come with Altecs or Eminence. (the Eminence look like ev's. older ev's) Some people love them (me) some people hate them. I think they are worth every pound and the pain to move them. Crappy pic of it. No longer have that head..
Members jackcheez Posted August 3, 2007 Members Posted August 3, 2007 I like a guy who doesn't care how big or heavy stuff is.

Members el_duderino676 Posted August 3, 2007 Members Posted August 3, 2007 Jeesus that thing is huge. Just think of that alongside two fridges all ran by old SVTs.

Members misterhinkydink Posted August 4, 2007 Members Posted August 4, 2007 Borrowed from TB- That's got me beat. I'll have to get a pic of my rig with a SVT w/cab and two V-4Bs each with a 2-15 V-6B cabinet. Project for tomorrow.
Members ministryoflower Posted August 4, 2007 Members Posted August 4, 2007 i have one too....its for sale. I don't use it, but it's as big as a ship so shipping is out of the question. 2x15's jensen's 1968....sounds good but lordy the size..... This is the only handy pic , doesn't do the immence-ness justice,BUT WAIT...the SVT and Twin 8x10 AND the V4b....now that would be silly....
Members der oxenrig Posted August 4, 2007 Members Posted August 4, 2007 I kinda want one. But then again, I kinda don't. Bob, you're probably going to hate it. They have a similar sound to the Acoustic 301 cabs. And we just know how much you love those.

I know I won't like it a much as my cabs, but it's certainly preferable to 4X10 something like that.
Members georgestrings Posted August 4, 2007 Members Posted August 4, 2007 Yeah, I've played a couple of those before, and they thundered pretty good... I refuse to sacrifice sound quality for portability just yet - and have a couple of large cabs - the Peavey equivalent of the V4B is a 215D-BW, and I've gotta say that it seriously kills... as does anyone else who has heard it... I usually play through a 210 on top of a 410, but wouldn't feel the least bit concerned if I had to gig with the 215D-BW... or one of those V4Bs, for that matter... I trhink my 215D-BW weighs in around 165lbs... - georgestrings
Members tylytle Posted August 4, 2007 Members Posted August 4, 2007 The 215-bw is a reflex type cab??
Members der oxenrig Posted August 5, 2007 Members Posted August 5, 2007 The 215-bw is a reflex type cab?? Not the regular BW-215. Apparently this 215D model is, though. Anybody have pics?
Members el_duderino676 Posted August 5, 2007 Members Posted August 5, 2007 Borrowed from TB- I think that just made my spine and my bowels quiver a little bit.
Members Rippin' Robin Posted August 5, 2007 Members Posted August 5, 2007 For my next 2x15, I'll hold out for the Mega Whappo! No way, hold out for the 8x18" Merle's still building in his shed!
