Make me a playlist

So, the big day is coming up and the hospital encourages music be brought to listen to while in labor. I want to make a really good playlist on my iPod. Give me some suggestions. I'm very open minded when it comes to music but I'm really not into the whole "new age" type of music that is recommended for labor.

I'd love to hear what YOU would want to listen to you if you had a good amount of time to kill in a hospital.

Death - Entire Discography.

Everything with John Entwistle.

Lots of Bach.

Oysterhead's The Grand Pecking Order

The Beastie Boys' The In Sound From Way Out

Lots of Doug Wimbish material.

Anything I planned on working on.

:p

Edit: And The Rolling Stones.

I listened to- U2- specifically Beautiful Day.

I also had some ACDC for some rock and roll backup.

I'm betting Jamiroquai (sp?) would be good too or Cold Play.

Good luck to you too Honey, I know you're going to be swell.:thu:

U2's albums made their way into our delivery room. For some reason I hear things like early REM, U2, Beatles, or other classic pop-rock as being good music for the occasion. Certainly a different answer than if it wasn't in the context of a delivery. WHICH IS COMING SOON!!! :)(we hope)

NIN

I'd better be on the dip though............:freak:

Really though,

Keep it upbeat and happy. Maybe Beatles??

Do you really want a soundtrack to your labour???

Good luck!

We hope. :thu: Seriously, the anticipation is just killing me. Knowing my luck, I'll go two weeks past my due date which is another 6 WEEKS. My doctor laughs at me-he says I am the most impatient person ever and after two days with that baby I'll be begging him to put it back.

At this point in Chrissy's pregnancy I started shouting into her belly to Sean "Hey Buddy! It's time to come out! We can't wait to see you! Tonight! Buddy? Please?" That went on for weeks. :)

if I had a bunch of time to kill I would add these CDs to my MP3:

Frank Zappa - Hot Rats

J Geils Band Full House -Live in Detroit 1972

Meters - Struttin or a compilation like Best of The Meters

Tower of Power - One of the great live compilations like What is Hip

Fugazi - 13 Songs

Sam Cooke - Live at the Harlem Club

Radiohead - OK computer

The Tragically Hip -- Road Apples and the new disc In View

Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St.

Beatles - Abbey Road

Minutemen - Double Nickles on the Dime

Decent variation and all solid listening experiences! Good Luck!

I was excited. Believe me, it'll come soon enough and you will laugh about these last few days/weeks. Your little girl is going to be so amazing you'd have gone through a lot more than this. :)
