Members Svi Posted August 8, 2007 Members Posted August 8, 2007 So, the big day is coming up and the hospital encourages music be brought to listen to while in labor. I want to make a really good playlist on my iPod. Give me some suggestions. I'm very open minded when it comes to music but I'm really not into the whole "new age" type of music that is recommended for labor. I'd love to hear what YOU would want to listen to you if you had a good amount of time to kill in a hospital.
Members Death Hands Posted August 8, 2007 Members Posted August 8, 2007 Death - Entire Discography. Everything with John Entwistle. Lots of Bach. Oysterhead's The Grand Pecking Order The Beastie Boys' The In Sound From Way Out Lots of Doug Wimbish material. Anything I planned on working on. Edit: And The Rolling Stones.
Members D Aussie Posted August 8, 2007 Members Posted August 8, 2007 Lots of old Tom Lehrer stuff For what you are doing... the Masochism Tango immediately comes to mind. Good luck missus...
Members bassgirl9 Posted August 8, 2007 Members Posted August 8, 2007 I listened to- U2- specifically Beautiful Day. I also had some ACDC for some rock and roll backup. I'm betting Jamiroquai (sp?) would be good too or Cold Play. Good luck to you too Honey, I know you're going to be swell.
Moderators Kindness Posted August 8, 2007 Moderators Posted August 8, 2007 U2's albums made their way into our delivery room. For some reason I hear things like early REM, U2, Beatles, or other classic pop-rock as being good music for the occasion. Certainly a different answer than if it wasn't in the context of a delivery. WHICH IS COMING SOON!!! (we hope)
Members dragon9666 Posted August 8, 2007 Members Posted August 8, 2007 NIN I'd better be on the dip though............ Really though, Keep it upbeat and happy. Maybe Beatles?? Do you really want a soundtrack to your labour??? Good luck!

I AM FREAKING OUT. I know you can relate
Members y-o-y Posted August 8, 2007 Members Posted August 8, 2007 I find Umphrey's McGee to good for just about any occasion, childbirth included
Members Svi Posted August 8, 2007 Author Members Posted August 8, 2007 We hope. Seriously, the anticipation is just killing me. Knowing my luck, I'll go two weeks past my due date which is another 6 WEEKS. My doctor laughs at me-he says I am the most impatient person ever and after two days with that baby I'll be begging him to put it back.

At this point in Chrissy's pregnancy I started shouting into her belly to Sean "Hey Buddy! It's time to come out! We can't wait to see you! Tonight! Buddy? Please?" That went on for weeks.
