Members hi.flyer Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 I'm glad to see you hold the President of the United States to such exacting standards... "Is he a bassist? Is he a Republican? He is? Waahoo!"
Members mrmatt64 Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 Good thing he's not a lefty!!!! Mr. Matt
Members rummy Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 Very cool, but my vote goes to Obama!
Members Jazz Ad Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 What is it with pres candidates and bass playing ?
Members wilki29 Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 I'm voting for Ron Paul. Im a republican and that guy seems honest to me.
Members NeonVomit Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 What is it with pres candidates and bass playing ? Pres candidates tend to be successful people in life. Being a bassist makes you more successful in life. 2+2=4
Members Crescent Seven Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 Very cool, but my vote goes to Obama! I've seen him play the bonaphone, he's quite talented. It's too bad for him that the bonophone was coming through a hole in a plywood board, not sure what that was about, but he couldn't hit the higher registers because his nose kept bumping the board. He didn't seem to mind, though, because when he was done, he called the hole "glorious". C7

Members rikshaw Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 he has a pick under the pickguard. no vote from me!
Members wilki29 Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 Yeah, that's why he doesn't stand a chance. He's TOO honest. You need to be a crook in order to get anywhere in politics. yea thats very true. I also like McCain, and huckabee as well. Only problem is that McCain is probably going to drop out relatively soon.
Moderators ThudMaker Posted August 10, 2007 Moderators Posted August 10, 2007 Yeah, that's why he doesn't stand a chance. He's TOO honest. Huckabee is receiving high marks in that area, too. Hopefully those 2 (Paul and Huckabee) hang on for a while until McCain and several others wash out, so that they get more air time. Huckabee has also been a governor, which based upon statistics gives him a lot better shot than reps and senators in a Presidential race.
Members hawkhuff Posted August 10, 2007 Author Members Posted August 10, 2007 yea thats very true. I also like McCain, and huckabee as well. Only problem is that McCain is probably going to drop out relatively soon. McCain blew it with the McCain-Feingold bill and his views on illegal aliens.
Members johnny6644 Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 The Huckster is from Arkansas, the former governor, and I ran into him on a street corner the other day. I only noticed him because I saw someone carrying a Tobias bass case. Chatted him up a little, found out Tobias basses are made here in Arkansas. Former Baptist minister; he uses "hound dog" in lieu of the word "hell." As in, "What in the hound dog are you looking at?"

I think it was this one. Now, I'm gonna vote for him twice.
Members johnny6644 Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 I keep meaning to find out exactly where the Tobias place is and see about a little tour. If I do, I'll try and post some pictures.

Members hawkhuff Posted August 10, 2007 Author Members Posted August 10, 2007 Since he's a rep he probably gave the company a huge tax break and they laid a couple Tobies on him, gratis. Hell, I would give them the tax breaks too.

Members lokidecat Posted August 10, 2007 Members Posted August 10, 2007 They're bass players? One doesn't need to play bass to end the Iraq occupation. One doesn't need to read a single note of music to fix health care. One can be tone deaf and legalize civil unions. :thu:
