Jaco didn't play hard rock. If he did, he might have had use for a 5-string.
:)

John Pattitucci doesn't play hard rock...he gets plenty of use from his 6er. Nathan East does pretty well on his 5er as well...without playing hard rock.

And those are just two guys that happen to play their own signature basses...

I myself, see no use to go any lower than a low D, which I get with my hipshot Xtender tuner on my 4-stringer. I do, however see the point with more strings in the high end. I might get a 5-string soon, but that will be tuned EADGC with a Xtender on the low E.

Then what's the racket that sounds like a guitar being tuned?

I was trying to listen to your rifs but it was distracting.

I'm sure they were good, from what I heard.
;)

piccolo bass, sir! Use the word "good" to decribe ANY of my noodlings again and I'll gut you like a fish!

Ahhhhh crap... i just listened to a Lug MP3.... I can feel my IQ dropping by the minute, is there any way to make it stop?.....

I listened to Lug's mp3. Then listened to some others he posted. I think the playing is rather good. Probably better than mine. :thu: It's Lug's style choice that causes my butt to chew on the vinyl I'm sitting in. :p I was glad when pounding stopped.
