Members zachoff Posted August 26, 2007 Members Posted August 26, 2007 What do you think? If you're a contractor that does this kind of work or an electrician/plumber/carpenter type, I'm particularly interested: The study/den will be for music and computing and will be heavily sound deadened... Hell yeah! That weird circle in the wall in the bathroom is the drain in the foundation. I'm hoping that I can run pipe from the shower's drain into that drain somehow. Otherwise, the shower is in a really bad spot compared to the toilet. There's also a drain in the utility room & that's where my washer and dryer are right now and that's also where the furnace/water heater are. Anyway...
Members bholder Posted August 26, 2007 Members Posted August 26, 2007 Is the foundation drain a real drain? Some older construction (like my current house) just had small dry wells under these "drains", which isn't even allowed by current code here, and you certainly wouldn't want to run anything additional into one, if that's what it is.
Members lyricpoet Posted August 26, 2007 Members Posted August 26, 2007 Take it for what it's worth but I've been seeing ads on TV by Owens-Corning (Pink Panther logo) for a basement finish system that looks and seems very smart. No drywall, taping, mud, etc. Pre-fabbed pieces- already insulated, I believe. You send them well designed plans like yours and they can give you a quote, plus cut sheets as to what this stuff looks like. Plus if you ever need access behind the wall, every piece is removable. Have you heard of this?
Members zachoff Posted August 26, 2007 Author Members Posted August 26, 2007 ..snip..Have you heard of this? Nope, but that seems crazy. Wonder how it holds up. I'll look into it though.
Members zachoff Posted August 27, 2007 Author Members Posted August 27, 2007 Any love from the day crowd?
