Members Funkee1 Posted August 27, 2007 Members Posted August 27, 2007 The drummer of one of the new bands I joined (Rusty Groove) constantly has his metronome, and he has some ear buds, and a set of headphones, like you wear at a shooting range, over the ear buds, so he can have a click playing all the time. I'm on the fence about this. Is this a good idea? Sometimes I feel like he's seperating from the rest of the band when we play. I know he's having a struggle with where the click is as opposed to the band. what do you think?
Members dragon9666 Posted August 27, 2007 Members Posted August 27, 2007 My drummer had this set-up in my last band. It worked really good, but every time you play the songs there the SAME!Not to say its bad, but you really cant improvise and jam, but your always locked in.I prefer the drummer have a really good mix in his monitor and be "as one" with the group.
Members basste Posted August 27, 2007 Members Posted August 27, 2007 i fight with my drummer in order to try this. Because he often slow down the tempo and it's a pain because suddenly the tune become louder like an elephant walking. Not very good for the funk
