Members jonathan_matos5 Posted September 1, 2007 Members Posted September 1, 2007 playing, listening to, or marching for that matter? any real band geeks in the bass forum:confused:
Members Funkee1 Posted September 1, 2007 Members Posted September 1, 2007 I like a little Sousa from time to time. I actually played electric bass in my high school and college Marching band. I had a Peavey Mark III on a cart with a poower inverter and two 12 volt marine batteries, and a 2/15 cab, and I marched up and down the 50 YD line, behind the percussion section.

Members Fireball_73 Posted September 1, 2007 Members Posted September 1, 2007 No because the marches around here are usually commemorating some stupid battle between the Catholics and Prodistant where at least a dozen (extra) people get stabbed in the City Centre...
Members misterhinkydink Posted September 1, 2007 Members Posted September 1, 2007 In high school (1970-72) I played flute and oboe in marching band. We did parades, half-time shows, and our march was "The Klaxon". I always made sure to smoke a lot of dope before marching. Today I enjoy them when someone else is doing the marching.
Members sunburstbasser Posted September 1, 2007 Members Posted September 1, 2007 I've grown fed up with Sousa. I do like Henry Fillmore's marches. Gustav Holst had some excellent marches for military band as well.
Members mrcrow Posted September 1, 2007 Members Posted September 1, 2007 well there is no alfordphone so sousa gets the title in my book:D  got me there..souza was the march king but ken alford did the business as well... and by the way hitler did have only one ball..

Members Thumper Posted September 1, 2007 Members Posted September 1, 2007 I participated in several marches when I was in the Army---Division change of command ceremonies, Veteran's Day marches, etc. It was kind of fun, as long as the weather cooperated.
