Ok Some of you guys are brilliant, so I'll ask over here.

I have a DR Mic stand with a telescoping boom. The boom has started to come loose from the main part. There's this little peg- thingie with ridges on it that screws into the boom arm, and fits into the tube. As near as I can tell, this is loose. I tried plumbers tape on it, but that didn't work.

This is a $79 mic stand, so I don't wanna just scrap it. Yes, I know you can get mic stands for $19.99, but I used to use them, and they suck. I have gotten used to this quality, but don't wanna shell out any money (until I have some)

Any other suggestions???

If you just want to secure it and are ok with not being able to remove the boom, two part epoxy seems to solve most problems. Plumbers tape, or Teflon tape, isn't sticky. I'd go with electrical tape or gaffers tape.

As to the pictures, I wouldn't advertise sticking the peg in any of those holes, ridges or not.
