Members xbassman
The other day I found out that the goto Luthier here is also a Peavey Authorized Service center. So I am cleaning my BXP and noticed my towel hang a little on a couple of frets. I may give Steve a call tomorrow and ask him. of course after cleaning it I had to take another pick! No really, this was off the shelf @ Guitar Center.I had to get all the grubby Taco Bell eatin' fingerprints off! Actually I was amazed how much crud came off the frets even though it is new! Members Thunderbroom
So are you wondering/asking if you can get a free setup under the warranty? I'd be surprised if the answer is yes.
Moderators Kindness Posted September 6, 2007 Moderators Share Posted September 6, 2007 I'd be surprised if the answer is yes. Hahaha. No. Is there some fret sprout along the edge of the fretboard? That's an easy fix. The board has shrunk due to changing climate (humidity) and it's a few minutes with a file and some sandpaper to make it good as new. Tbroom saw me do this on his duct tape bass. Easy maybe for someone with experience..... Really, I don't think I could get a free setup, but fret spout could be a warranty issue. Steve is just a really good technician. I am thinking if I let "the wizard" do the first setup I should be golden! And with any luck, any issues (like minor fret sprout) could be warrantied.
