9/11-As It Happened

MSNBC is playing it as it happened. It's some heavy {censored} since I haven't seen the news coverage again since that day. Meaning, I haven't seen the whole flow of the morning since that day. Lots of memories as I'm watching it. It's strange to see it go from an accident as the first tower is hit to a terrorist incident after the second one is hit.

If you look at it as grandstanding, I suppose it sucks. If you look at it only as what happened that day, maybe you'd see more.

C7 is new and improved: now more negativity!

Obviously, MSNBC doesn't believe all those psychologists who said the American public shouldn't be exposed to or reminded of the 9/11 tragedy. Just too painful. If you remember, several television shows immediately edited all landscapes of NYC so they could remove the WTC from their footage. Nothing like being politically correct.

Two of my former students were blocks away and took hundreds of photographs. One girl from our church worked there, but it was her day off when the planes struck.

Why on earth would they do that?

Why on earth would anyone want to watch it?

I don't know about anyone else, but I felt absolutely sick watching it happen when it happened. The brother of a good friend, a guy I'd known for over 20 years, was killed in the twin towers.

Why would I want to see it again? To what end? So I can remember how much it sucks that Jeff is gone? So I can remember in vivid detail how I frantically called everyone I knew in NY, a city where I lived for half my adult life, worried sick about my friends? So I can imagine what it must have been like for those people on the planes during the final seconds?

So I can think, "Yes, this is the reason why we're in Iraq!"

What's wrong with people?

One of the most powerful things I saw was in December of '01 when "Gangs of New York" was in theaters. The final scene is very cool - and extremely emotional since the final shot of New York shows the towers standing. Said more than a million words could have.

I would have liked to see the MSNBC thing since I only saw a few minutes of TV coverage that day.

I don't need to see this. The images and memories won't diminish over time.

I can see it as useful thing to have on the History Channel in about 10 years, for kids, or people who were living under rocks and never saw it live.

It's going to be weird telling my kids or grandkids about 9-11. It's gonna be in their History books and stuff, but I was there when it happened...not there but...it was something the WHOLE United States went through, ya know?...talking about it like its history is just weird...
