Members georgestrings Posted September 17, 2007 Members Posted September 17, 2007 ... 1st one is an Epiphone, that's basically a Jazz copy with an Explorer type headstock - zero fret wear, but has a few dings on the body - neck's clean, though... The PG was sporting a hideous "paintjob" - which I sanded down, and painted "hammered black" - to somewhat match the black body... I got it for $74 out the door at my local Daddys - already played a gig with it, so it's just about paid for itself... I wired the pups in series, and went straight to the jack - sounds pretty good, actually... ...the 2nd one, some here *might* find a bit more interesting - it appears to be a Spector Q5 Pro, as near as I can tell... I *was* going to get an Ibanez SRX 405 for $212 at the same Daddys, but after talking to a friend, he sold me this Spector for $175 - seemed like a better deal... It's got a few dings and dents, but is basically pretty solid - and very little fret wear - it's missing the trussrod cover, half the screws for the back control cover, and 3 of the tuner spacers - but I know a fellow local musician who has a Spector endorsement deal, and he's helping me chase down parts... I also am looking to replace one of the tuners, as it started slipping - after removing it's back cover(butchering would be a more appropriate description), I tightened the inside screw back up, and it's now functional one again - but is missing it's cover... As usual, no pics - so you'll just have to take my word for it(or not, hahaha!!!) - just thought I'd share... - georgestrings PS - It's my 1st 5'er - so we're talking foreign territory for this veteran 4 string player...
Members Rippin' Robin Posted September 17, 2007 Members Posted September 17, 2007 Good deal on the Spector!
Members georgestrings Posted September 17, 2007 Author Members Posted September 17, 2007 Good deal on the Spector! Thanks - I'm slowly getting used to the extra string - it has a nice low action, and sounds pretty good, so far... - georgestrings
Members Funkee1 Posted September 17, 2007 Members Posted September 17, 2007 It's not Amber, by chance, with a small nick in the upper horn, is it?
Members georgestrings Posted September 17, 2007 Author Members Posted September 17, 2007 It's not Amber, by chance, with a small nick in the upper horn, is it? Nope - I believe you'd call it a photoflame top, and it's blue - no nick on the top horn, but it's got a pretty good ding on the top, between the bridge and the strap post... - georgestrings

If it had been the one that was stolen from me, I'd have compensated you well beyond whatcha paid............somehow....... If it had ended up being yours, I would've been happy to return it to it's rightful owner, and would've been sure to hammer out any details - one way or the other... I hope you become reunited with yours one day, though - best of luck with that.... - georgestrings
Members georgestrings Posted September 18, 2007 Author Members Posted September 18, 2007 No pics, no bass. Yeah, yeah, yeah - *if* I ever stop spending money on gear, I *might* invest in a camera... - georgestrings
Members georgestrings Posted September 18, 2007 Author Members Posted September 18, 2007 Also - after playing this 5'er for a bit, I *might* end up buying the Ibby SR-405 I was going to get in the 1st place - just to have a 2nd 5'er... - georgestrings
