Members LAbass Posted September 20, 2007 Members Posted September 20, 2007 did anyone have any problems with 300T?i think it is not normal that it eats tubes in less than one year?am i right??i took it to two techs and nobody is able to solve problem it has...problem is with one pair of tubes in it...i took it to tech that sopose to be best around here..all he find out is that some resistors are not matched enough and cause some current missmatches(same current that is important when matching tubes in pairs) other than that he said it have to work just fine and it could not be a big deal...since he didnt have proper resistors and had ordered it he said that i can use sunn withouth a problem and he'll contact me when he recieve those resistors to replace them then...but only maybe a week after i took it home same thing happened. after switching from standby position one pair of tubes went out again.. how often is normal to retube 300W tube head? if it is working for like 10 hours a week... i'm thinking of getting another amp...right now i'm looking at hybrid of some sort(because of reliability)...what would be your amp of choice for 1200-1600$(i'm from europe but when we are talking about music gear we can easily make 1eur=1usd)? it have to be reliable and have big grity sound and not muddy...
Members Mudbass Posted September 20, 2007 Members Posted September 20, 2007 I had to retube my SVT every year (power tubes), but I was running it more like 40 hours per week.
