Members slapthefunkyfour Posted September 20, 2007 Members Posted September 20, 2007 Next Monday. Does anyone have one of these? I think I'd like something like that. I am going to start a resistance force to battle the forces of Suck.
Members bten Posted September 20, 2007 Members Posted September 20, 2007 I don't have that model, but I do have the Behringer version that lists for around $30 or so, and have no complaints. Three different amp models, (vox, fender, marshall, you get to keep one after the thirty day trial period) that can be tweaked similar to the real thing on the computer. Instead of a headphone, in the audio out I use a fm transmitter, the kind that would be used for an ipod or similar device to play in the car and play it through a stereo. When traveling I can use a laptop and my car stereo system to play anywhere. This type of device in this setup lets me be completely portable, play bass or guitar basically out of a gig bag with really pretty decent tone without needing electric power or using a substandard tone producing headphone amp for very little money.

Members Fran da Man Posted September 21, 2007 Members Posted September 21, 2007 Does it work for bass?
Members lyricpoet Posted September 21, 2007 Members Posted September 21, 2007 The reviews of it have only been so-so. Yes it does work for bass, supposedly (as advertised). What I don't understand is that if you're already into the whole computer as recorder/sequencer/billion plug-ins, etc.- wouldn't you already have some kind of dedicated piece of hardware for mics (low Z), keys, guitars, basses, etc. (high Z)? Like a firewire 10X14 by Mackie that goes for $350. Of course it's more money, but you've just solved every possible input imaginable for your software.
Members slapthefunkyfour Posted September 21, 2007 Author Members Posted September 21, 2007 I don't have any recording software or hardware. I don't want to spend a ton of money cause I would not use it very often. When I really want to record, I have 2 friends that own 2 different studios in town and all I have to do is share my beer with them and I have use of the studio until we run out of beer.
