"Scene tax"

You know, "must have" items that go up in value simply because they are cool for example...

VW camper vans

Trace Elliot

...etc

What else can you think of that is of a value simply because of association, of course allot of this is down to opinion.

I'm not sure that trace elliot belongs on that list. I love my trace rig. As far as I know, nobody I've met thinks it's
cool
.

I put that up there for controversy :D

Fenders I agree on to, but mim are reasonably priced imo.

You had an old original like me. Mine is the AH350 head and the 4x10 cab without the horn.

The new ones are WAY overpriced.

'61 - 64 Chevy Impalas.

Any 60 something Mustang

I must disagree. The only Mustangs that mattered were the 69 and 70. After 1970 they got butt ugly and before 1969 they were just chicks cars.

That is not the point of the thread, the mustangs he listed have a scene tax on them which makes them sell for more than they are worth in relation to it's capabilities.

Due to movies such as bullet for example, which make it an iconic and expensive car even though they were quite {censored}ty performers.

In the same way a VW camper van performs like a bag of {censored} and has a crappy mpg and performance ratio, but they still sell for more than they cost new from Mexico when they are renovated.

I'm English, we are pretty good at English to be fair... can't think why!?

I think you guys should stop calling it English and just change it to American, and just change all our spellings to suit some/your higher purpose :p
