Members RSBro Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 Great game last night, if you're a Tennessee fan. Defense played amazing. Almost felt sorry for Brees there at the end, but decided against it.
Members burdizzos Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 Peyton Manning never beat Florida, never won a title and never won the Heisman. Do you think he gives a {censored}?
Members zachoff Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 Peyton Manning never beat Florida, never won a title and never won the Heisman. Do you think he gives a {censored}? ...and got killed by the Huskers in the championship game!
Members burdizzos Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 ...and got killed by the Huskers in the championship game! Nebraska kicked the {censored} out of Florida, Manning played at Tennessee.
Members zachoff Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 Nebraska kicked the {censored} out of Florida, Manning played at Tennessee. They beat Tennessee the year after beating Florida.
Members burdizzos Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 They beat Tennessee the year after beating Florida. Ah yes, the year Manning graduated, two years after Nebraska beat down Florida.
Members RSBro Posted September 25, 2007 Author Members Posted September 25, 2007 Peyton Manning never beat Florida, never won a title and never won the Heisman. Do you think he gives a {censored}? VY won the title and Bush won the Heisman. You friggin lost me. Just saying on national TV, arguably two of the best footballers of the past decade, some say history, VY has 2 wins over Bush. That's all.
Members burdizzos Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 The point is, none of that college BS matters. It's not like Young beat Bush, the Titans beat the Saints.
Moderators ThudMaker Posted September 25, 2007 Moderators Posted September 25, 2007 The point is, none of that college BS matters. No kidding. Rex Grossman was a good college quarterback.

You obviously need a drink or something man. Chill the {censored} out or something. Everyone else is here having a good time. You sound like an aggie.
Members burdizzos Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 No kidding. Rex Grossman was a good college quarterback. He had an O-line that gave him all week.

Members RSBro Posted September 25, 2007 Author Members Posted September 25, 2007 What? I'm just stating that the comparison is kind of silly. It's just in good fun man. Even though the media are mostly slobs, they still put out that comparison as they are both great talents. Just head to head, VY has a 2-0 jump. That's it. I even talked about the actual game itself. Tennessee's D played great along with some bad choices by Brees. Lendale White is going to be a monster if he keeps up like he did last night. That boy is friggin HUGE!
Members burdizzos Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 So Joseph Addai is better than both of them.
Members RSBro Posted September 25, 2007 Author Members Posted September 25, 2007 So Joseph Addai is better than both of them. I donno about VY, but Bush and White for sure! That kid is outstanding. Can't believe he's still so young.
Members Emprov Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 Lendale White is going to be a monster if he keeps up like he did last night. That boy is friggin HUGE! White to Bush, White has more carries, more yards and a better yards per carry average by almost a yard than Bush.
Members Captain Fathead Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 Hm. Well, he does benefit from Peyton. He's good, granted, but with so much attention focused on Wayne, Harrison and Clark, he's almost guaranteed good numbers.
Members RSBro Posted September 25, 2007 Author Members Posted September 25, 2007 White to Bush, White has more carries, more yards and a better yards per carry average by almost a yard than Bush. He's also the reason USC played Texas such a close game for the 2005 Rose Bowl. I have the game on DVD and I'd forgotten how much White did compared to Bush who got all the hype, but deservedly so. I was pretty psyched when the Titans got VY and White last year and Michael Griffin from UT this year as well. Some talent on that 2005 BCS field, for damn sure!
Members burdizzos Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 I was just following RSB's logic. Addai's team is better than both Bush's and Young's. It stands to reason that a lower draft pick will enjoy better team results.

Members Psilocybin Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 A guy who graduated a few years after me from my old high school, Jake Scott, played football for a horrid college team (Idaho), but has been a starter for the Colts for a while now. He wasn't a stand out high school athlete either. He has something Young/Bush do not, a superbowl ring. Congrats to them for winning popularity contests (pretty much anything that involves ncaa 1AA football).

Congrats to them for winning popularity contests (pretty much anything that involves ncaa 1AA football). Yeah, but he doesn't have a BCS title ring either. And it's only VY and Bush's second seasons. On a side note, just read that McAllister tore his ACL last night and is out for the season. Looks like the (s)Aints just aren't gonna get it going this year.
Members y-o-y Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 I think they are both winners: Reggie Bush 6-year, $51 milllion ($26.2 million guaranteed)Vince Young 6-year, $48 million ($25.9 million guaranteed)
Members Psilocybin Posted September 25, 2007 Members Posted September 25, 2007 Yeah, but he doesn't have a popularity contest ring either. Fixed
