Members 82Daion Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 I have a Grundorf Mighty Light that I'm quite happy with. It's reasonably sturdy, light, is made of wood, and has a carpet covering. Pretty cheap, too.
Members DevilRaysFan Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 DRF waits impatiently for obligatory booby pic.......
Members Bluescout Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 And here it is: This is a great rack for any occasion.
Members Gruntollio Bass Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 I was waiting for the "nice rack" post..................it just had to happen!

Members justinbass Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 I have mine in a road ready case with a tuner and a power strip. Those cases are sturdy.
Moderators ThudMaker Posted October 3, 2007 Moderators Posted October 3, 2007 I wonder if Genz Benz makes a 4 or 5 space? If they do, that would be my first choice, because it probably fits on top of the 212 cabinet you're looking to buy at some point soon. I have a Grundorf mighty light. It's pretty good, too.
Members J. Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 Look on eBay, there are usually a selection of used rack cases on there for reasonable prices.
Members agedhorse Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 These are the racks I use for mechanical and thermal testing of all of the amps. They have proven to be a good representation of what is likely to be encountered in the touring world and seem pretty reasonably priced (to me anyway). http://www.audiopile.net/products/Cases/RE_series_roadcases/RUE_Case_products_page.asp

Members bassred Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 I'd say the EMI cases look like the best band for the buck! I'm not a huge fan of the plastic racks. That said, I had a 4 space SKB that did its job years ago...
Members agedhorse Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 ah, your avatar is like...umm...well...umm I get accused of this from time to time by those failing to have a sense of humor

Members hasbeen Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 Are they pudding proof? Well my new cases have a pudding deflection system. And the lids have water AND putting proof gaskets.
Members agedhorse Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 I won't work on amps with pudding inside Not without latex gloves and that's just too wierd. Doesn't pudding contamination void the warranty Roger?
Members hasbeen Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 I won't work on amps with pudding inside Not without latex gloves and that's just too wierd. Doesn't pudding contamination void the warranty Roger? I just chuck the amp and grab a new one.
Moderators ThudMaker Posted October 3, 2007 Moderators Posted October 3, 2007 I just chuck the amp and grab a new one. I want to know it's Cheeseburger and Frie proofed.
Members basshunter Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 I just chuck the amp and grab a new one. You're my hero
Members hasbeen Posted October 3, 2007 Members Posted October 3, 2007 I think that if the pudding contamination comes from a source as noble as Roger's situation, the warranty should still be valid. Now if your 3 year old chucks his pudding-in-a-cup at it, that is a different story. You're my hero

I'm not sure where to buy it but, I'm sure if you did a google search, you can find one. All you need is a 2 space.
