Members RIC N BACKER Posted October 4, 2007 Members Posted October 4, 2007 ok, so I checked it out. I think the comercials are very funny.I was uncertain how that would work in a Half hour sitcom. I thought it was very slow, forced and almost snooze worthy. it in no way captured the essense of the Comercials. I am not really disappointed because i didnt have high hopes. they did get a positive write up either http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=278222>1=7703 Car pooling was pretty LameI am surprised O'Connel (sp?) did this show. it is a rip off of the Office which I could really get into either
Members Funkee1 Posted October 4, 2007 Members Posted October 4, 2007 Shouldn't this have "Binkley" in the thread title, and be written by.........me???? seriously, thanks. I was curious about those two shows (whether they would be as bad as I thought), so I am glad someone watched them.
Members Crescent Seven Posted October 4, 2007 Members Posted October 4, 2007 People still watch network sitcoms? Personally, I'd rather pluck the hairs out of my balls with a pipe wrench, it's far less tedious. C7

How many more ways can they do a sitcom without repeating most {censored} that's been done before?
Members Ender_rpm Posted October 4, 2007 Members Posted October 4, 2007 Reaper is pretty good, but Cavemen just sucked bawls. Which is sad, because it COULD have been a funny, high concept kind of thing.

Members bholder Posted October 4, 2007 Members Posted October 4, 2007 The excerpts from the pilot for Cavemen that I saw months ago sucked, so it doesn't surprise me. I did kind of like the commercials, they were funny in a self-aware annoying posturing kind of way. From what I saw of the pilot, they didn't keep the same actors, the makeup was terrible, and they completely lost the "pouty / angsty" feel from the commercials.
Members i_wanna_les_paul Posted October 4, 2007 Members Posted October 4, 2007 I liked Cavement. The writing is very "smart" and enjoyable to me. However, it seems like it was pitched as more of a comedy, rather than what it really is. I'll keep watching it. Dustin

Which is sad, because it COULD have been a funny, high concept kind of thing. Had no desire to watch it since it reminded me of those incredibly stupid commercials. Seems to me the only ones attracted to that sort of {censored} are those that are comfy with PC. No one 'real' gets put down, besmurtched, or insulted. It is safe. :poke:
