Docs, what really works on hemorrhoids??? Like numerous others on here, I'm seeing a GI specialist for internal issues. And in most respects, there's been positive progress. However, in the process of slowing the system down, firming things up, and acquiring a level of normalcy, my rhoids have blossomed like a summer rose! There may even be more! The itch, burn, worse than athlete's feet! And, well, let's just say, it makes the functional aspects of the immediate area even much more, ah, bothersome!!! Prep-H doesn't do anything but make it all feel greasy. A cousin's suggestion from her experience of Vick's VaporRub shrinking them just didn't shrink them. HELP! Is there anything that REALLY works? They are an inflammation and swelling of your rectal veins usually caused by straining when you poop. Here's my suggestion 1. Buy some over the counter Ducolax stool softner (if you are having trouble pooping) 2. This is the best stuff bar none for hemorrhoids, burns and insect bites. It will give you almost immediate relief without burning (whoever told you to put vick's vapor rub on your ass is either stupid or just wanting to make your ass hurt more).
