Members upinflames
This thing is just too loud, is it possible to remove one of the power tubes to cut the volume in half without losing tone?

Members Roguetitan
do the volume and gain controls not work?you can also adjust the volume on your Bass. this is the first time someone has actually said their amp is too loud:freak:
Members misterhinkydink
It won't cut the volume in half and the tone will definitely change. You could try changing V1 to a 12AT7, 12AU7, 12AY7 or a 12DW7 but I suspect the tone will change.

Members Super Bass
I'm sorry I don't see the problem here, whats this "too loud" you speak of?
Members lyricpoet
Compared to the rigs we HCBF-ites have strung together, the B-15 is kind of quaint and definitely not too loud! You must fully explain. And removing tubes is a disastrous idea!
Members upinflames
The B-15S is 60 tube watts, and for studio use that can be a little loud. I'm used to using 30 watt or less combo amps, but it seems if you drive the B-15 past 2 it rattles the room. I bought it just before I left for school and haven't had enough time to play with it...I'll screw around more this weekend when I go home. Members Thumper
I wouldn't remove a power amp tube. Keep the volume cranked on your bass and either roll off the amp volume or use an attenuator.
