Members mike fitzwell Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 I was in the shower this morning thinking about this. What is your onemost absolutely totally favorite cover song that you play on stage? For me it's definitely Elvis - Suspicious Minds. I don't know why.
Members sunburstbasser Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 I love to play "Under The Bridge" by RHCP, but I've never been in a band that does a really good job of it.
Members SYRINGEBASS Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 The Trooper, The Clairvoyant, Die with Your Boots On...MAIDEN !!!
Members NeonVomit Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Two Minutes to Midnight. Hell yeah.
Members RSBro Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Anything by Dispatch (Open Up, The General) Anything by DMB "Wonderwall" by Oasis "Tyler" by the Toadies More than 1, but screw it- they're all fun.
Members Funkee1 Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 When I was with New Breed, it was "If you want me to stay". Now, With Chain Reaction, it's "Georgy Porgy".
Members dDigitalPimp Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 my first band on bass and our first gig will be towards the end of nov. so my favorite song we "practice" so far is either psycho killer or this one below. Moondance i wanna get a fretless just to be able to do better slides in that tune.
Members SYRINGEBASS Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Two Minutes to Midnight. Hell yeah. that one gets a great reaction also, and it's just plain fun.
Members Ender_rpm Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Blister in the sun for the crowd reaction. They love it, and I don;t feel ike a sell out Hash pipe, cuz I get to rock the F out Hey Jealousy cuz I get to sing it. And Sabotage cuz the drummer sings it,a nd we rock the F out
Members lug Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 I've always like Shook Me All Night Long by ACDC. Nothing gets a crowd going more than that little gem.
Members collinwho Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 We only play two covers, Muscle Museum (Muse cover) and Tie Up My Hands (complete bastardization of a Starsailor song). I like them both, but I prefer playing the Muse one.
Members chris-dax Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Love Shack - B52s Billie Jean - M Jackson
Members mikgag Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 1945 - Social Distortion 3 notes + Get to rock out
Members John Swartz Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Hard to nail down one, but in my current band, the one with some of the most prominent basswork (which of course makes it fun to play) is "Live With Me" by the Rolling Stones. John
Members fishmanrod Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Ya, Shook Me is cool. Gets the chicks up dancing! Star seed by Our Lady Peace. Nobody knows them, they are Canadian. Great bass line, and it really rocks. Rock and Roll, Led Zep. Not challenging but you can totally rock out! Sorry that is 3. Cheers!
Members mike fitzwell Posted October 12, 2007 Author Members Posted October 12, 2007 Geez, since none of ya can listen, I'll add in my other favorites: Blister in the SunStuck in the MiddleHonkeytonk Woman
Members Goofball Jones Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Train in Vain - The Clash The Rover - Led Zeppelin (mainly because it's stupid easy to play and VERY easy to sit there and zone out on the groove). Money - Pink Floyd (because it fools people who don't know any better into thinking I'm some great bass player...too bad hardly any band I play with wants to play it ).
Members L-1329 Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 I was getting a big kick out of playing Yankee Rose, that's just a really fun song.
Members NeonVomit Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 I've always like Shook Me All Night Long by ACDC. Nothing gets a crowd going more than that little gem. When you play it, they definately get going... ...out the door, as fast as humanly possible
Members __tony__renaud Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Always was and still is "What's Going On". Boy, y'all must be in some interesting cover bands to be playing some of the tunes on this thread :poke:
Members scampi Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 welcome to paradise - green daytrippin on a hole - stprearviewmirror - pearl jamschism - toolby the way - rhcp if I had to pick one, probably welcome to paradise, that's just a fun song
Members Onkel Bob Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 First I thought of was honestly this one: Rasputin by Boney M. I used to play that in a school band and it was really fun and was also really well recieved.
Members Onkel Bob Posted October 12, 2007 Members Posted October 12, 2007 Another one I thought it was really fun to play was 'Fire' by Mother's Finest. Edit: http://youtube.com/watch?v=p5b1qmXsqH4
