Man I'm looking forward to your report on the Hamer. I hope that your expectations aren't unrealistic. If not, it should be a good buy. If it ever goes up for sale (and we both know it is likely) I'd love to have first dibs.

I'm actually trying to take cues from you and not sell stuff to buy new stuff. I'm sure I will love the Hamer but if I do decide to sell it you will get the price I paid for it and will be offered first dibs definitely. I don't forsee me not liking it though.

It's hard to step out of the cycle of selling and buying, it really is. Especially considering I'm buying Undead Sycip's Midnight Blue Ric:D. I'm not used to saving up for stuff... I've been having better luck with my bass selections now though because I finally took some time to figure out what I like. All the basses I have now I absolutely love..hopefully the Hamer and the Ric will be the same way:thu:

I have to admit, I have no idea why you posted that. Did I miss some kind of forum inside joke recently?

It coincides with the SNL skit thread, and the fact that I had just PM'd K. :p

Dan, you've been in a serious acquisition mode recently.

In the past few months you've bought the Tony Franklin sig(which I want), and the Warwick Streamer, and you have two more awesome basses on the way. Didn't you have a post not too long ago about taking a break from bass? You certainly returned with gusto. :thu:

I think you'll like it too, but you never know. There is no question it will be a good instrument, but bonding with it is another story. I am not opposed to selling a bass you don't connect with, but I just try to make the right decision on the front end. Of course, playing the bass ahead of time is not always possible, but you are probably to a point that you don't need much info to know whether something will work for you.

Yeah it surprised me too. I went from Having the Ibanez BTB and the G&L to having my sig. I've always been a minimalist but I've stumbled upon some deals lately that I would kick myself if I passed them up. The TF I got for a steal, the Hamer was priced really well, and Undead Sycip priced the Ric so that I had no choice in the matter:D.

Of course this time I'm motivating myself by taking an online course at Berkeley to actually learn the instrument.

Don't forget I also bought the Lovetone Meatball as well:D

Yeah exactly..I can take a look at the specs and have a pretty good idea of whether or not it works. BUt there is something to be said for really connecting with an instrument. All the basses I own currently I instantly bonded with..well I did have some troubles with the TF, but it and I have come to terms and we play very well together now:D
