Members B-Bottom Posted October 19, 2007 Members Posted October 19, 2007 It will give me something new to learn and save the band sometime when trying out drummers and having them lug their {censored} in. Plus it's only $150 Starion beginner drum set includes bass, floor tom, 2 rack toms, snare, hi-hat, 2 cymbals, throne, and snare case.
Members T. Alan Smith Posted October 19, 2007 Members Posted October 19, 2007 I played drumset for the 1st time in over a year Wed. I had a blast. One of these days, I've gotta get a kit.
Members groutt Posted October 19, 2007 Members Posted October 19, 2007 Cool. If I had the floorspace and a more understanding family, I'd like to get some kind of kit.
Members RSBro Posted October 19, 2007 Members Posted October 19, 2007 I was looking at an electric kit not too long ago. Maybe with my Christmas Bonus.
Members J. Posted October 19, 2007 Members Posted October 19, 2007 Yep. I have an acoustic kit at my parents' house but I'd like to get one of the small Roland V-drum kits for my apartment. Call me a {censored}, but I just don't like how loud drums are.
Members sludgebass69 Posted October 19, 2007 Members Posted October 19, 2007 I have a 5 piece set ......somewhere.....I haven't seen it in about a year. I think it's at my son's friend's house.....
Members Fran da Man Posted October 19, 2007 Members Posted October 19, 2007 Are you going to use Joel's proprietary drumsticks to bash those skins? you know the ones he keeps on a shelf

If you're right kinda next to it? I try not to do it, but sometimes a certain-pitched snare does that to me, which is weird.

My drummer and one guitarist have no concept of volume management when you have no hearing protection in. They think it's funny for some reason that my ears hurt when they play loudly. It really pisses me off. Why can't they just wait a few seconds for everyone to put in their plugs or whatever? Morons...

Members L-1329 Posted October 19, 2007 Members Posted October 19, 2007 I bought my little bro a set of Roland V drums a couple months ago, and I swear those things are the greatest invention ever in percussion. Especially when you're in a sound critical enviornment like a house/apartment, or even small bar. After only a few times playing with a drummer who had V-drums, I just don't want to play with acoustic drums any more.

Members Undead Sycip Posted October 19, 2007 Members Posted October 19, 2007 V drums preserve marital harmony!

Members B-Bottom Posted October 20, 2007 Author Members Posted October 20, 2007 Just for the jazzy songs. For the full blown rock ones he'll be breaking out the big ol' double dong!!!
Members Poltergeist Posted October 20, 2007 Members Posted October 20, 2007 a drumkit for 150$? thats SICK dude! even I could afford that!
Members rikshaw Posted October 20, 2007 Members Posted October 20, 2007 your spelling is about perfect for a drummer. good luck
Members Crescent Seven Posted October 20, 2007 Members Posted October 20, 2007 A drumset is an asset, man. I have one that I haven't played in almost 3 years because I live in a townhome. I'm trying to sell it, but if I don't, I won't stress about it. Even if you're not a drummer, having a set around makes things MUCH easier.C7

Members SteveyDevey Posted October 20, 2007 Members Posted October 20, 2007 I'm really looking forward to the day I have the space and isolation for a kit. I'm a terrible drummer, but I'd like to get better.
Members Fiery Furnace Posted October 20, 2007 Members Posted October 20, 2007 I love drums. Remember to count out loud, always, the whole time!
Members BeeTL Posted October 20, 2007 Members Posted October 20, 2007 Solution: that's what I did. Makes rehearsal and recording WAY better. I think I've decided that I'd be happy with V-Drum shells if I had real cymbals. The cymbal pads just don't cut it, IMHO.
