Can't go wrong with GK. My 400RB was dirt cheap, made in USA, tiny, reliable and sounds awsome.

The only gripe I have with it is the 280watts of power. Which is probably gonna be solved when I get an 1001RB (if I decide to go that route :D)

Oh and apparently, if you call GK, Bob Gallien himself picks up the phone

Just to toss another suggestion on here:

Sansamp RBI + Power amp is another good solid ~ 600.00 price range amp.

However, the SVT1540HE is a cabinet as far as I know. If you need a head + cab for 600, you're going to be buying Peavey.

Look for a used Genz Benz GBE600. There's no need to thank me.
:thu:

Another vote for the GBE600. I've been using one for 1.5 yrs now and been extremely pleased with it. Very flexible, lots of tones in there, quite powerful, does 2 ohms without flinching, slices, dices.....

I replaced my Ampeg SVT III Pro with the GBE600 and retired my Traynor YBA 200 in favor of the GBE750.
