Members Conformer Posted October 26, 2007 Members Posted October 26, 2007 I have been playing for a few years, played alot of grunge, blues, jazz and stuff. Lately I have been getting into thrash metal the {censored} I grew up on waaay back. Anyway its odd, but I can play Interstate Love song nearly perfect, but I am having trouble with the Intro from Peace Sells by Megadeth. Should I use a pick or is the tab I am using a little flawed? http://www.fretplay.com/tabs/m/megadeth/peace_sells-btab.shtml Thanks for any help.
Members guitargod0dmw Posted October 26, 2007 Members Posted October 26, 2007 Dave Ellefson pretty much always plays with a pick...so yes...play it with a pick. That song is not the easiest to play, nor is most Megadeth for that matter...so take it slow and make sure you can accurately play each section before moving on. Dave is one of the best metal bass players around...as well as one of my personal favorites! I'll see him tomorrow!!!! YEAH!
Members justinbass Posted October 26, 2007 Members Posted October 26, 2007 yeah, dave is a pick player. That being said, I can get damn close to his sound fingerstyle. take it slowly and speed up gradually.
Members Conformer Posted October 26, 2007 Author Members Posted October 26, 2007 Getting a little closer. Yet, when in frustration....I play some "Caught in a mosh" by good ole Anthrax!
Members Psilocybin Posted October 26, 2007 Members Posted October 26, 2007 You can also try the bass intro from "Go to Hell" if you want some dark sound.
