Some of ya'll knew I was selling stuff to fund the purchase of a tube head. Well, the things have been sold and the deal for the head has been sealed! Shipped today, should be here by Monday at the latest!

It's used, but it's been kept in a roadcase in a studio, and was recently retubed with some Sovteks in the power section, and Mesas in the preamp section.

Without further ado... The Mesa Boogie Bass 400+

I know it'll take some time to find the settings I like, but God-willing I'll have the puppy ready to go for a Nov. 9 show.

You're going to love it more than you even probably realize. :)

As said, it doesn't take very long to find a good setting. With a little time you'll get a better sound out of it once you realize how well the controls act with each other.

I also suggest removing any fragile items from the walls / shelves before giving it a spin. I constantly knock down half the house every band practice. It's THAT loud. After setting my Master Volume at about 5/6, I've never had any need to turn it up past 3 - 3 1/2 in any situation (well, other than for the hell of it).

I need to bring mine in for service though. I've had it for about 6 years and it just needs some general maintenience.

How much did that set you back? I want an all tube head one of these days.

It set me back $900, though I made enough from selling three pieces of gear to get it. That's the price delivered. So, minus about $70 for materials, having the shipping company fax it and the actual cost in the rack with the power conditioner, I'd say I did very well for myself. :)
