Members misterhinkydink Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 He was playing downtown within walking distance so we checked it out. Same old Alice which is what people want. It was a two hour set which was impressive. His players are really good and I finally heard a bass/drum solo that was not bad. Alice certainly isn't getting any prettier.
Members NeonVomit Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 He's an ugly mofo who will be rockin' till he drops. Awsomeness. And his last couple of albums have been pretty good, too.
Members bnyswonger Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 Alice is a good guy. and a true showman in the most traditional sense. He never goes out and slags around - he's a consummate pro.
Members RSBro Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 Would love to catch him someday.Saw him on Letterman a few years back, and he played w/ the house band and his guitarist. Did "No More Mr. Nice Guy". Absolutely killed it.
Members groutt Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 I want to see him playing golf on the senior's tour. Really.

Members brake Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 His live show is something else. He is a true pro, that's for sure.
Members Guitzilla Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 Alice said that he will quit when he can't blow away any other band off the stage. I saw him last year and he certainly blew many bands away. His band was top-notch and Alice's perfomance was exceptional. Brian

Members allan grossman Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 He's local these days. Hosts a radio show on a local station on the weekends - I liked him when I was a kid but have gained a lot more respect for him now that I've heard his opinions on a buncha stuff.

Yep - I heard him with Terri Gross on NPR (he was promoting a new book, i think) and he just comes across as a very centered and intelligent guy. Great sense of humor too.

He does interviews and deep cuts as well as Coopers Covers of any band covering any other band. He has lots of bootlegs he picks from... :thu:
Members bassman1956 Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 Saw him last year at the Rialto in Joliet. I went along because I thought it would be some campy fun. Great show! Enjoyed it far more than I expected. Man, the guy's got some energy!
Members dDigitalPimp Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 I want to see him playing golf on the senior's tour. Really. in full stage makeup.

It was a great show..I'm glad that I had hearing protection. Brian

Which may or may not be a good thing depending on one's perspective. (Personally, I think he kicks major ass.)
Members chubrocker Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 On many levels, Alice is a BRILLIANT man!! He is a great performer and a good businessman overall. I really like his radio show too. He always throws in some odd song from the 60's and 70's that's really kewl. My only beef is that with all his money, can't he get a decent mic for his radio show!!
