Members REMUS Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 I want to import either a GB750 or 400 from the USA and I was wondering if I could convert them to UK power, does anyone know if there is a UK endorsed GB tech? Emailed GB but no response =/
Members guitargod0dmw Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 Talk/PM to Hasbeen...he's a GB rep.
Members Poltergeist Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 you can just get an adaptor.... it wouldnt be such a pain in the ass...
Members REMUS Posted October 31, 2007 Author Members Posted October 31, 2007 just pm'ed him, and poltergeist i've already explored that possibility and no it isn't a viable option with sensitive equipement like an audio amp.
Members Poltergeist Posted October 31, 2007 Members Posted October 31, 2007 ok... not even a good, more expensive one? i didnt buy my amp overseas because of that, actually...
Members rpsands Posted November 1, 2007 Members Posted November 1, 2007 Maybe you could import from Australia. I know the GB amps that sell in Aussieland are pre-converted for Australian power. I'm not really sure if that's the same as you guys use though.

The GB amps have a selectable power switch on them to go between 115/230v...so he all set.

That shouldn't be a problem. We have 240 V here, while most appliances are rated for 220/230 V.

Either way, I would assume that it's much easier and cheaper to import something from the US as opposed to importing from Australia.

Members agedhorse Posted November 1, 2007 Members Posted November 1, 2007 Australia/New Zealand has other issues that require a seperately rated power supply. It's not uncommon to see a high line condition of as much as 275 volts in both countries, not common at all in the UK. All products are 115/230 volt rated and will work fine on nominal 240 volt conditions where the high line does not exceed 265 volts.
