Members Low Tone Posted November 1, 2007 Members Posted November 1, 2007 I believe that discussion was had many many moons ago and never materialized. It's been like this for the whole 7 years I've known about it so why change it now?
Members Emprov Posted November 1, 2007 Members Posted November 1, 2007 What makes you think that this topic is being considered? That would suck.
Members justinbass Posted November 1, 2007 Members Posted November 1, 2007 If you read the announcement, it says what new forum is appearing.
Members REMUS Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 I would say it would be a very bad idea, I really love the way this forum is presented a melee of thoughts and ideas

Members D Aussie Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 Im already kinda sad there are so many forums here as it is.Gets a bit ... inbread:p
Members bikehorn Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 We don't need no Talkbass 2.0 here. In addition to it being pointless to split such a unique forum up, there just isn't enough traffic to justify multiple bass forums. After a while the "off topic bass forum" becomes a mini open jam. Ugh.
Members bassman1956 Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 Well, I do know all 3 of the BF mods are on record as saying they prefer it this way too. Hopefully that counts for something.
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted November 2, 2007 CMS Author Posted November 2, 2007 Trust me, the last thing Admin wants is another version of Open Jam.
Members max maroon Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 ....I treid the open jam once or twice before but I couldn't get into it (Isurprisedmyself)...I think this forum's got a good mix of stuff.
Members The Fury Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 The new fourm is not a bass forum, read the announcment.
Members The Fury Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 One of the appeals of Harmony Central is that it's a place for musicians to talk about subjects other than music, but with the perspective of fellow musicians. As a result, we will be creating an Off-Topic forum section that will start off as a home for Open Jam and the Political Forum, but also include a new forum called Consumer Electronics. We've noticed that many threads in the forums relate to musicians talking about portable music players, camcorders, HD TVs, DVRs, and the like; now there will be a central forum where musicians can discuss these gadgets with other musicians. Want to know which TV has the best sound quality? Are those $99 5.1 surround playback systems any good? What's the best way to replace an iPod battery? You'll be able to find out soon. And, there will be more forum changes coming in 2008 designed to allow greater interactivity within the community. Stay tuned!
