Members JRoll Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 I've been saving up for a 800RB to match my 300W @ 4ohm 2x12. Missed a local one on CL last week by a few minutes. Yesterday a guy I work with offered up his Mesa Boogie Buster 200 combo with a 15 in it. Said I could make an offer as he never uses it. He got it used for 6 bills. Those models are now discontinued. In terms of volume, would the 200 tube watts be at all comprable to the 300 SS watts of the GK? I fell in love with the GK's 800's tone and power, and am thinking I should probably hold off for the GK. Any idea why those Mesa's were discontinued? Thanks for the info. JR

Members fretless Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 The GK is the loudest 300watt ss amp known to man , but that combo is a beast , I'm gonna say yes though . Its a killer amp at what 120 lbs.
Members 2tall Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 The GK amp is very easy to find. The Buster is very difficult. Try it out to see if you like it. If so, and you don't mind the size and weight, get it!!
Members JRoll Posted November 2, 2007 Author Members Posted November 2, 2007 120 lbs???!!!?? Wow. Even with the handle and wheels my back would be f'd in no time. I offered $1 a watt for the Mesa. We'll see what happens. I'd much rather the GK 800RB to match my cab.
Members guitargod0dmw Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 The GK and the Mesa are going to sound pretty different from each other. If you really like the way GK sounds, my first thought is that you won't enjoy the Mesa as much. I'm not saying you wouldn't like it, it's just different.
Members JRoll Posted November 2, 2007 Author Members Posted November 2, 2007 Bottom line is if I can get it for $1 a watt, I'll take it no matter what.

Members James Hart Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 Bottom line is if I can get it for $1 a watt, I'll take it no matter what. I'll buy it from you... I'm looking for a tube combo for when my 350lbs tube rig is overkill
Members rpsands Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 I've been really curious about those buster 200s. Let us know how it sounds
Members Roguetitan Posted November 2, 2007 Members Posted November 2, 2007 I would buy it in a heart beat!Awesome Amp!
