I don't know anything about them except they look like toilet seats. Check eBay and see what they're selling for. That's what I typically do when I'm uncertain about an object's value. I think $1k is too much as well. I'd love to have one someday, as they truly are tone monsters and feel great. But I'm with willsellout--$800 would be my limit as well. As far as Lava Pearl goes...I can't find any pics that I can post. Take a look at http://www.basscentral.com/musicman/bongo.shtml About half way down on the page there is a Laval Pearl Bongo 5 HH...that would be exactly what I want! He won't budge from $1000 CAD, so I think i'll have to leave it, tis a really nice bass... but I can't justify paying $250 USD more than the average price plus double the shipping costs. I special ordered mine as the finish was new at that time and I wanted it with the tort guard and rosewood neck, so it was just over $1300 from BassCentral shipped to my door, if my memory serves me. You'll be able to find one for the right price eventually. Finding deals takes time. You just need to constantly look out for things...they always pop up!
