Bring it!

You head this way, and the Chicago Posse will schedule a meet around your trip.

:)

I'd probably be the only one there (if not the whole forum) that has a Khaler Trem on my bass! If I ever make a trip though, I'll bring some of my local Blueberry Grail Ale!

i live in a DRY county in Arkansas the closest store/bar is half an hour away. so needless to say i don't drink often and when i do i mainly prefer cocktails. i like beer but with my job, if i drink one beer people can smell it for hours. so i tend to shy away from them. So needless to say i don't have much beer drinking experience. so ya'll recommend one ya'll talk about thats not a mass beer. i can do bud, michelob, red stripe, corona, DOS XX . i guess i mainly drink friends beers. hehehe, but i have tryed some sam adams that was nasty. ( it was thick, dark lager i think. i tind to like light beers, on the sweeter side. i don't care for Mickeys. Fosters is ok but i would pick over it. can anyone one half way recommend something to try.. i doubt i will find it here but i could find it when i go to memphis.

thanx

Dry counties make baby jesus cry... and usually he's the "reason" counties are dry! :o

I'm a big fan of the different Leinenkugles if you can get it. Try Honey Weiss first or the Red. I like the Creamy Dark, but if you're not a fan of Darks, I'd try these first.

Pete's Wicked Ale Wanderlust is quite good, and Sam Adams Winterfest is excellent... not nearly as dark as their Blacks or Scottish.

You may like IPAs, but they're too bitter and hoppy for me. I like reds, stouts and very dark ales.

I was a little disappointed by the microbrew selection. There was far more than any other store I've been in; however, I now realize that they only stock a fraction of the stuff they have on their site at each store.

I was really looking forward to getting my hands on Goose Island's Bourbon County Stout and Three Floyd's Alpha King Ale (among other things). A huge positive is that they have quite a bit of stuff from one of my favorite breweries...Dogfish Head.

You lucky bastage! They have my absolute favorite German beer, in stock. I can't get it here any more.

Bitte ein Bit!

I don't think Furstenburg makes an export, but I don't know. I had one in Germany last week and it was awesome. I had a Bitburger too, vom Fass, and I can't even tell you how happy I was.

If you like a pilsner, look no further, IMO.

Ahh if you're gonna go german it has to be dunkel beer rather than weiss beer! :)

Oh btw, if any of you guys ever come over here theres a restaurant/bar/steak house place that specialises in wacky beers. They have different ones each week. I haven't been there myself yet but its supposed to be great. Its across the road from Christchurch cathedral in Dublin city. ;)

Hmmm...

I'll put it on the list!

:thu:

You clearly steered me right with the 1554 recommendation.

If you're an IPA fan, give 90 Minute IPA a taste.

I plan on it, I also had the liquor store guy order me some 120 min which they weren't going to get at first.

Have you had any of Goose Island's specialty brews like Matilda, Demolition or the one with the french name? They had all three today, but without knowing anything about them, I didn't want to take a gamble at $9 a four pack.

No, but they're on my short list too.
