I'm picking it up next week because it needs a little setup but here are some pics of it. (This is not my bass, but they're the same)

Here are a few specs;

MAVERICK X5

5 STRING BASS GUITAR

RELEASED AS A VERY LIMITED RUN OF ONLY 20 5 STRING MODELS

WORLDWIDE.

2 x piece centre joint basswood body

Canadian Maple / Bubinga neck

Double octave 24 fret

AAA grade Indian Rosewood fingerboard

Evolution roller controls

S5 humbucking pick-ups

9v 3 band EQ, Bass, Mid, Treble

Maverick / Gotoh Die-Cast machineheads

Its really nice to play and the neck is extremely small for a 5 string, doesn't feel much different from a 4 string, its sounds amazing, it killed the Warwick I played before it and it looks super cool. Now I've just got to get used to having an extra string.:)

It is a Dave Pybus sig but I didn't know that when I bought it.

Yeah, the pots do look a bit odd next to the rollers but you get used to it.

Yes that is Roland on the western sea with the dark tower in the background. Ace books.
:thu:

i came close to buying a dave pybus sig from a store local to me. i think they had dave himself instore signing to launch it..

my parents swear by the dark tower books. ive not read them myself, but i plan to as soon as i finish the john leguizamo bio, the new jeff lindsay - dexter book... aaand phillip pullman dark materials... which my dad is also very much into

I'm sorry, what's up with those roller knobs? How to they interact with the other knobs? Looks interesting.

theyre just standard pots. probably volume, pan?

theyre a maverick patent i think.

dude called jim davies from pitchshifter + the prodigy helped design it with maverick a few years back
